CDI Points System
These rules apply to a full three section or five section driving event and also apply to CDI members competing in NICDA events.
Novice Pony/ Novice Horse
To be eligable for a Novice Class a pony/horse/driver combination must not have acquired 16 points. If the pony/horse/driver combination was deemed Open prior to 1999 this combination must remain in the Open class.
Road Carts
Road cart classes do not carry points.

On reaching a total of 16 points a Novice is obliged to move to the Open class in the next season., but may continue as Novice for the balance of the current year in which they
