CDI Vaccination requirements for Horses

All horses and ponies competing in CDI events must be vaccinated for Equine Influenza as follows -

Initial Vaccination

Horses new to competition (or those who have let the annual vaccination regime slip) must be given the initial vaccination which comprises two doses, the second of which is given between 21 and 90 after the first dose.

Annual Booster

Thereafter the horse/pony must be given an annual booster within 12 months (+21 days grace)  of the second dose. If this booster is missed the horse/pony must go back and start the Initial Vaccination again as described above.

FEI Events

FEI rules require that the horse/pony be vaccinated within 6 months (+21days grace) prior to the FEI event. If the normal annual booster falls with 6months prior to the FEI event no additional vaccination is required. Otherwise an additional booster will be required.

.All vaccinations must be recorded on the passport by the administrating Vet. This must show a continuous vaccination record
